Gerald could be viewed as a person who loved the outdoors, bird watching, searching for and collecting arrowheads and making every air show within traveling distance. If a military aircraft flew overhead you could only continue your conversation after it had left the area.
After retiring from the City of San Saba, Gerald made many trips out to the Big Bend area and to New Mexico taking in the sites by himself or with someone.
Later he spent time with his friend, Tom Allen Sloan, talking politics, solving the world’s problems and getting in the way while everyone else was working cattle.
To his immediate family, Gerald was known as Jelly Bean or Bird Man. He will be missed!
Gerald is survived by his 3 brothers, Arley Gage, Jim Gage, Joel Gage and 1 sister, Judy Sloan.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Thurman Arley Gage and Malveena (McKowen) Gage.
