Our sweet and loving mother went to be with her Lord Jesus on December 25, 2018 in Brownwood, Texas. Marjorie Gage was born to Luther Neal and Johnnie Merl Brown on December 6, 1928. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba, Texas. Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Interment will be at San Saba Cemetery.
Marjorie married James William Gage, Jr. on July 4, 1946. They had four children; Tommy Joe Gage, Marilyn Shelton, James Gage, and Sherry Gage. Loving the outdoors, Marjorie spent as much time outside as she could. She gardened and canned the produce, helped her husband during pecan season, cooked for the family and friends, and quilted beautiful quilts. Over the years she has taken care of her daughter, Sherry. When her hands could no longer quilt, she started reading and found that she loved to read. She commented that if she knew that she would love to read so much there might not have been as many quilts made.
Marjorie is survived by son, James Gage, and daughters Marilyn Shelton and Sherry Gage, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Gage, Jr, her parents, Luther and Merl Brown, son, Tommy Joe Gage, and sister, Bernel Taylor.

My condolences to the Gage family during this difficult time. In the Bible, Jehovah God gives us hope. Acts 24:15 says, “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Revelation 21:4 says, “and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more.” Very soon we will see the fulfillment of these promises here on Earth.
