Tessie (Hester) Warren, 82, of Brady, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 18, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady, Texas on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church of Brady on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11:00 am with interment at the Rest Haven Cemetery to follow. After the burial, there will be a lunch held at the First Baptist Church.
Tess Warren was born in Jones County to J.V. and Tessie Hester, on August 5, 1935. She graduated from Merkel High School and married the love of her life, Joe F. Warren, April 3rd, 1953, in Abilene, Texas. They lived in Haskell, Texas and had three children: Mike, Cindy, and Randy. In 1969, they moved from Haskell to Brady. Tess worked for many years at the Brady Doctor’s Clinic. The last few years of her life, she moved to Lubbock to live with her son Mike.
Tessie enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, playing dominos, card games and watching endless hours of baseball and football (both collegiate and professional). She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, who knew her as Granny or Gran Gran. She was a big supporter of the Famed Brady Bulldog Band Boosters. She also enjoyed listening to Garth Brooks.
Surviving her include her two sons, Mike Warren of Lubbock and Randy Warren and wife, Ingrid, of Little Elm; one daughter, Cindy Offield of Midland; one brother, Gene Hester; two sisters, Leta Heady, and Wanda Hendricks. She also has six grandchildren surviving, Karlee Warren, Justin McMorries, Jarod McMorries, Mindi Dunaway, Gretchen Warren, and Reed Warren: 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe F. Warren; brother Willie Hester; and parents, J.V and Tessie Hester.
