Faye Bearden Sunvison, 94, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 10, 2017. A graveside service will be held at the Rochelle Cemetery on Thursday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home with Virgil Webb officiating.
Faye Loree Sunvison was born to William Davee and Bertie (Shannon) Davee in Voca, Texas on May 11, 1923. She was raised in McCulloch County and graduated from Rochelle High School at the age of 17.
While working as a clerk at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, she met and married Sergeant James Bearden, who was in the U.S. Army Air Corps. In 1959 as a young widow, she and her children moved to Brady, Texas. She attended nursing school and graduated as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Faye loved people and used her gift of nursing as a private duty nurse and nursing supervisor in Brady Nursing Homes.
In 1967, she married August Eugen Sunvison and they lived many years on the ranch near Melvin, Texas and also in Brady until his passing.
Surviving Faye include her son, Jerry Bearden (Dreu) of Mason; daughters, Barbara Jean Curling (Gary) of Somerville, and Linda Elliott of San Angelo; several nieces and nephews; and numerous loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who will miss their Nana Faye dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertie Davee; husbands James Bearden and August Eugen Sunvison; two brothers, Aubrey Davee and William (Bill) Davee; one sister, Sable Hammond; and one son, Bill R. Bearden.
