Amos Lee (A.L.) Potter age 73 fought the good fight but lost the battle on November 11, 2017. A.L. was born February 14, 1944 to Amos and Beatrice Potter, in Cleveland, Texas.
He Served his country with pride as a Medic in Vietnam with the Army, from April 1961-April 1967.
A.L. was a truck driver by trade most of his life, he served as Veteran Service Director for Menard and surrounding counties for approximately 2 years, this he did with much pride.
He lived life to the fullest, as a soldier, husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman and collector of guns, both brought him much joy. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather he always put his family first.
He is preceded in death by his parent’s, 3 brothers,3 sisters, 2 grandsons; Shawn Simmons and Nicholas Walker and 1 son, Jamie Walker.
He leaves behind his wife of 36 years Norma J. Potter, 2 sons Scott Walker, and Chris Walker, 3 daughters’; Melissa Smith and husband Joshua of Odessa, Texas, Pam Simmons of Big Lake and Lorie Enloe of Cleveland, Texas. 1 sister Pat Sizemore of Cleveland, Texas; 3 grandsons and 5 granddaughters, and 3 great grandsons, also numerous nieces and nephews and a very good friend Richard Hernandez one of the closest and was there till the end. Our family appreciates him very much.
He loved us all with his whole heart as we did him, he will be greatly missed.
There will be a Memorial Service on November 25, at 3:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Menard all is welcome.
